Have a Go at Morris Dancing: 18 September
On Saturday 18 September 2021 we invite you to join us to have a go at Morris dancing. All are welcome, regardless of age or ability, although a basic sense of rhythm is helpful!
We will give an introduction to Cotswold Morris, the style of dance performed by Dartington Morris Men. We will cover a little about the history of Morris dancing and give examples of Morris and other traditions that we perform, including the Mummers Play. There will be a chance for you to have a go as well.
The event will be held at the New Lion Brewery at their Tap Room in the Meadowbrook community centre right in the heart of Dartington village - easily accesible from Totnes via the Totnes to Dartington cycle path. It is just across the road from the Dartington 'Shops' (Cider Press) near Dartington Primary School. The address is Meadowbrook Community Centre, Shinners Bridge, Dartington, TQ9 6JD and you can find it from the Google map shown below.
We will provide a FREE PINT of beer from the brewery for all those that participate*.
The event starts at 2pm and will be finished by 5:30pm, although you can leave when you like of course!
We look forward to seeing you there!
* subject to availability, 18s and over only
