2019 Day of Dance in Totnes, Saturday 14 September
Dartington Morris Men hosted our annual Day of Morris Dancing in Totnes on Saturday 14 September 2019 and we all have a great time, dancing up and down the town to appreciative audiences.
This event was open to all local Morris sides from the Open Morris, Morris Federation, and Morris Ring and formed a Joint Morris Organisation Local Day of Dance.
Eight local sides performed, starting at 11am and finishing at around 3pm.
On display was a mixture of Cotswold Morris, North West Clog, Border Morris and North Skelton Longsword.
We welcomed the following sides to join us:
- Glory of the West (Cotswold)
- Green Willow (Clog)
- Grimspound Border Morris
- Lodestone Border Morris
- Newton Bushel Morris (Cotswold)
- Plymouth Maids (Clog)
- Sidmouth Steppers (Clog)
and of course Dartington Morris Men, performing Cotswold and Longsword dances.
You can follow updates on this event in the future by liking the South Devon Day of Dance Facebook page.
The sides performed at various locations in the town, based on the Plains but also at the Rotherfold (near the Bay Horse), near the market square, and adjacent to St Mary's church.
We hope to hold this event again on Saturday 12 September 2020. If you need any further information, please contact the Bagman.
